Dental Emergency? Call Us First

Your First Visit Starts Here
Choosing a new dentist takes a bit of trust, especially if a past experience did not go well. Our aim for your first visit is simple: understand your mouth thoroughly, explain what we find in language that makes sense and give you a plan you actually agree with before anything gets scheduled.
We care for patients of every age at our West Omaha office, from a child's first cleaning through implants and full restorations for older adults. With four dentists on staff, new patients usually do not wait long for an opening.
If it has been years since your last appointment, you are in good company and you will not hear judgment from our team. Where things stand today is the only starting point that matters.
What Happens At Your First Appointment
- Health History Review
We go through your medical and dental history, current medications and any conditions that affect treatment. Tell us about past experiences that went badly, since that changes how we approach your care. - Digital X-Rays
Digital images show what an exam alone cannot, including decay between teeth, bone levels and problems developing below the gumline. Images appear on screen within seconds and your dentist reviews them with you. - Comprehensive Exam
Your dentist checks each tooth, evaluates gum health, examines your bite and looks at existing fillings and crowns for wear or failure. - Oral Cancer Screening
A visual and physical check of your lips, tongue, throat and the soft tissue of your mouth. It takes a couple of minutes and catches things worth catching early. - Your Findings And Plan
Your dentist walks you through what they found, answers your questions and outlines any recommended treatment along with the cost. Nothing gets scheduled until you understand it and agree to it.

If You Feel Anxious About Dental Visits
Dental anxiety is common and it is worth telling us about when you book rather than after you arrive. Nitrous oxide and oral sedation are both available, and beyond sedation, most of what helps comes down to pace and communication. We explain each step before it happens and stop when you need a break.
Dr. Albertsen in particular is skilled at helping anxious patients feel comfortable, so ask for her when scheduling if that would help.
