The consultation is where most of the value sits, and it is worth having even if you are undecided.
Our dentist starts by asking what specifically bothers you, which is a more useful question than it sounds. Patients often arrive knowing they dislike their smile without having isolated why, and the answer changes the treatment entirely. Colour, shape, alignment and how much tooth shows are separate problems with separate solutions.
An examination follows, covering the teeth, the gums, your bite and how your teeth relate to your lips and face when you speak and smile. Imaging shows what is happening below the surface, and photographs let you see your own teeth the way others do, which is often clarifying in itself. Existing restorations get assessed, since crowns, fillings and old bonding do not respond to whitening and affect what is achievable.
Our dentist then lays out the realistic options, including what each involves, how long it takes, what it costs and what it asks of the tooth. Where more than one route would work, you will hear the trade offs rather than a single recommendation. Where the honest answer is that you need less treatment than you came in for, you will hear that too.
